Friend - As you've probably heard by now, President Trump's first budget proposal contains provisions that would make significant changes to the retirement system for current and future federal employees and current federal retirees. Singling out the federal workforce in this way, and trying to balance the budget on the backs of hardworking federal employees and retirees, is unacceptable to me. I joined a group of my colleagues in sending a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan and House Majority Le... Read more

Friend- Momentum is building for my legislation, the Stay on Schedule Resolution (H. Res 43). Just this week Rep. Dave Brat, another Virginian, and I were featured in The Free Lance Star for urging House Leadership to forego August Recess in order to complete our work in Washington. The American public has signaled time and time again that it is frustrated with Washington. For far too long, Congress has failed to fund the federal government in a responsible, long-term manner, and I have consiste... Read more
