Wittman Holds Seminar with Local Veterans
Washington,
August 6, 2025
WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) hosted an in-person seminar in Richmond, Virginia, bringing together veterans, their families, and support organizations. The event provided a valuable platform for attendees to voice their concerns, access vital resources, and share the issues they are most passionate about. Joining Congressman Wittman were Virginia Department of Veterans Services Commissioner Chuck Zingler, Brent Reiffe from the Wounded Warrior Program, and staff members from the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
“Our veterans — the heroes who have sacrificed so much for our freedom — will always have my unwavering support,” said Congressman Wittman. “I was honored to host this important seminar to connect veterans and organizations, ensuring they are aware of the resources available to them. I remain committed to working tirelessly to guarantee they continue to receive the services and support they have earned and deserve.”
Virginia’s First District is home to many veterans, and nearly 700,000 veterans call the Commonwealth of Virginia home. From 2018 to 2028, the Department of Veterans Affairs predicts that Virginia’s First District will see an 18% increase in veterans living in our communities, so now more important than ever that we fight for the benefits they earned risking everything for our freedom.
In May, Rep. Wittman proudly co-sponsored the bipartisan ANCHOR for Military Families Act that will assist military families during the moving process. The ANCHOR Act would provide resources on school enrollment, spouse employment pathways, housing assistance, and credit transfer support. The bill would also streamline healthcare access and ensure military families can continue to receive the care they need during the difficult moving process. He successfully led this bill’s inclusion into this year’s National Defense Authorization Act.
Throughout his time in Congress, Rep. Wittman has introduced multiple pieces of legislation that would increase transparency by removing administrative roadblocks in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA):
