Wittman Sworn into 116th Congress

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) released this statement after officially being sworn in to the 116th Congress.

“We accomplished so much over the past two years: Passed landmark tax reform putting more money back in the pockets of hard-working Americans, fully funded our military, expanded Veterans’ access to care, improved school safety, made investments to improve access to high-speed internet, strengthened CTE/STEM programs, and provided the funding and reforms necessary to combat the opioid epidemic.

“However, we must now look forward. I am honored to be returning as the representative for the First District of Virginia in the 116th Congress and to continue working on the issues that matter most to my constituents. We must continue our work on expanding broadband access, ensuring our military has the resources it needs to further combat our readiness crisis, further promoting workforce development through CTE/STEM programs, protecting our natural resources for future generations, solving our transportation and infrastructure issues, and better providing our Veterans the benefits they have earned. I am committed to getting things done for the First District and will continue fighting for local priorities.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee.
