My record on immigration
Earlier this month the Trump Administration announced the end of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Congress, not the Executive Branch, should be writing the laws of our nation. President Obama’s DACA program was a clear example of executive overreach, and I believe President Trump’s announcement is trying to right this wrong by calling on Congress to act.
I wanted you to know that I remain committed to enforcing existing immigration law and working towards a comprehensive approach to combating illegal immigration.
NumbersUSA just gave me a A+ on their most recent report card. The score includes pieces of legislation I have co-sponsored and voted in favor of in the House.
H.R. 82 – Criminal Alien Deportation Enforcement Act would stop issuance of visas to nations that don't accept deportees.
H.R. 2149 – Refundable Child Tax Credit Eligibility Verification Reform Act would prevent illegal aliens from claiming the child tax credit.
Voted in favor of:
H.R. 3003 – No Sanctuary for Criminals Act would withhold DOJ and DHS grants from sanctuary cities.
H.R. 2581 – Verify First Act would prevent illegal aliens from receiving federal health insurance subsidies.
I’m proud to stand for common sense immigration policy that secures our border and prioritizes the safety and security of Virginians.
Please do not hesitate to contact me anytime if an issue that concerns you comes before the House of Representatives.
It's an honor to serve you and Virginia's First District in the People's House.
