The purpose of the Council is to provide a discussion forum on issues of concern regarding the U.S. educational system. The goal is to initiate a dialogue with people of Virginia's First Congressional District, including teachers, administrators and other education professionals to voice concerns and focus on issues facing those in education and to discuss ways to promote student learning and standards of quality.
