WASHINGTON, DC – Renewable energy legislation authored by U.S. Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1) passed the U.S. House of Representatives today as part of a larger domestic energy package. Wittman's legislation, the Advancing Offshore Wind Production Act (H.R. 2173), would streamline the process for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to approve temporary infrastructure, such as towers or buoys, to test and develop offshore wind power in the Outer Continental Shelf. Wittman proposed the bill as an amendment to the Domestic Energy and Jobs Act, H.R. 4480.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed a measure authored by Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1), the Chesapeake Bay Accountability and Recovery Act (H.R. 258), as part of a larger conservation package, H.R. 2578, the Conservation and Economic Growth Act. WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1) today supported legislation to repeal a new medical device tax set to take effect in January 2013, created by the health overhaul legislation or "Obamacare" signed into law in 2010. H.R. 436, the Health Care Cost Reduction Act, repeals a provision of Obamacare which establishes a 2.3 percent tax on all types of medical devices, affecting a growth industry in the U.S. that employs hundreds of thousands of employees.

H.R. 5854 provides funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and military construction projects administered by the federal government. The House passed the legislation 407-12.
