WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) voted in the House Armed Services Committee to send the H.R. 4310, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013 (NDAA) through to the full U.S. House of Representatives for consideration.

WASHINGTON, DC – A measure authored by Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1), Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, passed the House Armed Services Committee early this morning during consideration of the Fiscal Year 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, the annual defense policy bill.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today voted in favor of legislation to stave off looming cuts to defense spending. The Budget Control Act, passed in August of 2011, charged the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, also known as the "super committee," with finding at least $1.2 trillion in spending cuts from FY2012 to FY2021. The super committee failed in its duty to accomplish this, setting off a trigger known as "sequestration," a set of automatic spending cuts worth $1.2 trillion that will take effect in January of 2013.

Washington, DC – A measure authored by Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1), Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, today passed the House Armed Services Committee during consideration of the Fiscal Year 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, the yearly defense policy bill. Wittman offered an amendment to prohibit Fiscal Year 2013 funds from being utilized to propose, plan for, or execute any additional Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) rounds. The amendment passed 44-18 with strong bipartisan support.
