Washington,
September 15, 2025
WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) welcomed House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (MI-09) to Virginia to meet with workers and businesses, as well as discuss how members of Congress are working to lower energy costs and secure American energy independence. Chairwoman McClain joined Congressman Wittman at a 7-Eleven gas station in Glen Allen and the TC Energy Goochland Compressor Station in Manakin Sabot to discuss how the Working Families Tax Cut Act lowers energy costs by expanding energy production, streamlining the federal permitting process, strengthening the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and investing in critical minerals infrastructure and grid reliability. "It was a privilege to tour the Compressor Station with Chairwoman McClain, and hear directly from the hardworking men and women - who keep Virginia's power infrastructure running. I look forward to continuing my work alongside Chairwoman McClain to ensure that Virginians will continue to have access to reliable, affordable energy." – Rep. Wittman “Whether it’s cutting taxes, boosting take-home pay, or securing reliable American energy, Rep. Wittman has been a steady leader for Virginia. I’m excited to be here highlighting how his work in Congress is making life more affordable and more secure for Virginians in the 1st District,” Chairwoman McClain said. “From lowering gas prices to eliminating taxes on tips, we’re helping working families thrive,” McClain added.
