Wittman Leads Roundtable Discussion on U.S. Energy Solutions

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) participated in a roundtable discussion in Glen Allen to examine strengthening America’s energy independence. The event connected energy organizations, local businesses, and local officials to discuss the policies implemented in H.R. 1 as well as permitting reform, grid reliability, and future energy initiatives.

“We must invest in energy infrastructure and support research and development so that we can harness our vast energy resources to power Virginia,” said Rep. Wittman. “This roundtable was an important conversation about how we can provide reliable energy to the Commonwealth while preparing for the future. I want every resident of Virginia’s First District to know that I remain committed to lowering energy costs for families, creating well-paying jobs, and increasing our energy security and reliability.”Recently, Congressman Wittman voted in favor of H.R.1, legislation that takes key steps to return to America energy independence, provide crucial resources for our allies around the world, and mitigate the higher gas prices and energy costs that hardworking Virginia families are facing. Congressman Wittman has also championed provisions that were included in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 to support collaboration between Naval Weapons Station Yorktown and Dominion Energy on leveraging nuclear power to meet installation energy demands and unleash American innovation.
