WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) issued the following statement following the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States:

“Today marks a new day in America. After four years of a dwindling economy with sky-high gas and grocery prices, a porous southern border allowing deadly fentanyl to flow into our communities, and global unrest jeopardizing America’s standing on the world stage, the American people spoke and delivered a mandate for change.

“With Republican majorities in the House, Senate, and White House, we have a great opportunity to create lasting, positive change. As we move forward in a new direction, I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to do what the people elected us to do: get the work of the nation done.

“I wish President Trump and Vice President Vance the blessings of good health and sound judgement as they lead our nation and work to strengthen our economy, secure our border, and once again project American strength across the globe.
