Wittman Opposes Debt Ceiling Raise

Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1) released the following statement on his vote against the proposed debt ceiling raise through March 15, 2015:

“Borrowing additional funds without spending reform is unacceptable. There must be efforts to address future spending. I have not supported a “clean” debt ceiling raise in the past, and opposed this effort today because the Congress cannot continue to approve out-of-control spending. We must continue to work toward a more efficient, sustainable federal budget.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee where he is the Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee.
