Wittman Applauds Move to Help Veterans with Claims

Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) released the following statement today after the announcement that the Lewis B. Puller, Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic at William & Mary Law School has joined the Department of Veterans Affairs Fully Developed Claims Community of Practice, the first law school clinic in the nation to receive such an invitation. As a Fully Developed Claims Community of Practice, the clinic will help speed the processing of veterans’ disability compensation claims through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“I am glad to see that the Department of Veterans Affairs has partnered with the pro bono Puller Veterans Clinic at William & Mary to help our nation’s veterans,” Wittman said. “I have urged the VA to utilize William & Mary, and promoted their work as a national example for improving the VA claims process and helping veterans. I will continue to work to ensure that the veterans of Virginia’s First District receive the benefits they have earned and I am excited for the William & Mary clinic’s opportunity to spread access to improved service to all of our nation’s veterans. Veterans’ sacrifices on behalf of fellow citizens deserve the utmost attention and faithful support of our nation.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee where he is the Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee.
