Wittman Marks Public Service Recognition Week
Washington, D.C.,
May 7, 2013
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today released the following statement marking 2013 Public Service Recognition Week: “Many of those in public service consider it a calling; they serve not for themselves but for their fellow citizens, and for love of community and country. Hard-working citizens serve our nation on a daily basis, whether it be the local policeman or mayor, those keeping our skies safe for the Federal Aviation Administration or supporting our troops on the front lines with the Department of Defense. The local, county, state and federal workforce is full of dedicated folks who exemplify service above self, every day. I would like to extend my deepest thanks to those serving our communities and our country. I will continue to advocate for public servants and work to ensure that their selfless service is recognized and honored across this great nation.” Wittman serves as a member of the Congressional Public Service Caucus, a bipartisan caucus for members of the House and Senate committed to building public and congressional support for a well-trained, high-performing federal workforce. Congressman Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee where he is the Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee. ### |
