Wittman Disappointed in Administration Decision Against Keystone XL, Preventing American Job Growth

Short-sighted decision undercuts much-needed job growth, energy security

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) released the following statement after President Obama announced his decision to prevent the growth of American energy jobs, rejecting a permit for the Keystone XL pipeline:

“This decision puts politics ahead of good policy, and prevents the growth of thousands of American jobs. More largely, it signals again a failure to explore all options for job growth and energy security in this country. I am disappointed in this decision and will continue to promote policies that support American jobs and energy, and lessen our dependence on unstable sources of oil.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee where he is the Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
