Wittman to Host Online Safety Forum Featuring Facebook Representatives

Public is invited to attend special session of Wittman’s First District Congressional Youth Forum

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today announced a special public event featuring representatives from Facebook to discuss and present how to engage securely on a social network such as Facebook. The forum will be held on the Stafford Campus of the University of Mary Washington in University Hall. This forum is open to the public, and held in conjunction with his First District Congressional Youth Forum.

“During my First District Congressional Youth Forum held last spring, many students discussed the importance of social media and its impact on their lives. Facebook is currently the most-used social network service in the world and for this reason, I have invited representatives from Facebook to speak about online safety,” Wittman said. “All citizens are invited to attend; and I especially encourage all high school students, parents, educators and administrators in the First Congressional District to participate in this notable forum.”
