October 6, 2010: TODAY: Wittman to Host Constituent Conference Call Following Last Week’s Focus on Joint Forces Command, DoD “Efficiency Initiative”

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today will host a constituent conference call focused on the proposed closure of Joint Forces Command, and other measures included as part of the Defense Department’s “Efficiency Initiative” announced in August. First District constituents are invited to join the call and to share views and concerns, and ask questions, following the week’s meetings and hearings focused on the issue.

“While I will continue discussions with Defense Department officials to press for information on these decisions, it is also important to connect with constituents on this issue,” Wittman said. “This decision could have a large impact on Virginia and the First District. I invite all interested constituents to join this call to share their views and concerns, or ask a question.”

WHAT:              A conference call discussion about the Defense Department’s recent announcement to close Joint Forces Command, to cut the contractor workforce, and other components of their “Efficiency Initiative.” Constituents of the First district are invited to call-in and to share their views and concerns, and to ask questions of Congressman Wittman.
