September 17, 2009: Congressman Wittman Statement on Decision to End Missile Defense Shield in Eastern Europe

Washington, DC - "I am extremely concerned with the Administration's decision to end our commitment to a robust missile defense program in Eastern Europe. The termination of our programs overseas not only affects our relationships with our allies, but also sends the wrong message to the emerging nuclear threats across the globe. I remain committed to ensuring the continuation of our missile defense programs and honoring our obligations overseas", said Wittman.

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He is a member of the House Missile Defense Caucus and serves on the Armed Services Committee where he is the Ranking Member of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
