The key to increasing manufacturing jobs
Knowing our shared interest in Virginia’s growing manufacturing economy, I wanted to update you on some of the work I’ve been up to.
Recently, I’ve had the pleasure of touring our district’s state-of-the-art facilities and engaging with key stakeholders from within the manufacturing industry. I toured Vermeer Mid Atlantic’s wonderful facility and discussed how I, as your Representative, can help the 1st District’s manufacturers overcome the contemporary challenges they face. Our conversations certainly gave me a lot to think about as Congress is back at work during the month of September, but one thing is clear—now, more than ever, it is important we work to roll back burdensome and unnecessary regulations that hinder growth.
Manufacturing jobs are so vital for Virginia and the nation, and our economy and defense industrial base depend on a robust manufacturing sector. So far this Congress, I have supported, and the House has passed, 14 bills to remove red-tape and business harming regulations from the books. As Congress heads back into session, please know I will continue to pursue smart policies in Washington that facilitate an environment of job creation across our nation.
I hope you will contact me anytime an issue that concerns you comes before Congress, especially if it involves protecting Virginia’s manufacturers.
It's an honor to serve you and Virginia's First District in the People's House.
