Hi Friend-

Knowing that many of you share my concern and interest in health care policy, I wanted to update you on my recent work in this crucial area.

As we move forward through the reform process, I am continuing to meet with industry experts in the First District to hear their ideas for a change that will be best for Americans.

This week I met with health care administrators at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital to discuss health care services in the Northern Neck. We focused on the lack of physicians in the Heathsville/Reedville area and increasing access to treatment in King George County. They had important insight into how to make sure constituents of the First District have access to care, no matter where they live.

Doctor shortages like these, along with the shortfalls of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), are affecting patient’s access to care. Although the American Health Care Act (AHCA) is in its early stages, this GOP health care bill will return stability to a system teetering on disaster and put decision-making back into the hands of patients. I will keep you updated as the Senate considers their bill and we move to conference.

It's an honor to serve you and Virginia's First District in the People's House.
