Wittman Supports Passage of NDAA Conference Report

WASHINGTON – Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1), Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness, today supported passage of the Conference Report for the Fiscal Year 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This legislation, the final version of the bill that establishes the funding authorizations and priorities for the nation’s military, passed the House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote of 375-34.

“This bipartisan bill is designed to support the most essential component of our military strategy: our war fighters. It addresses critical readiness challenges that—left unchecked—threaten to undermine our military men and women and their ability to get the job done in the field and come home safe. Perhaps most importantly, it authorizes well-deserved and long overdue pay increases for our troops. This legislation provides the funding necessary to modernize our forces and increase overall strength and agility. I’m proud to put my support behind it.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee.
