Wittman Receives “Champion of Healthcare Innovation” Award

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) has been selected to receive the Healthcare Leadership Council’s “Champion of Healthcare Innovation Award” in recognition of his support of patient-centered healthcare. The Healthcare Leadership Council is an association of executives from various professions within the medical field that work to create a more efficient and effective healthcare system to benefit all Americans.

“Innovation is necessary to grow medical research and find new treatments,” Wittman said, “and that’s absolutely critical if patients are to receive the care they need. America leads the world in healthcare innovation and strives to continually advance the resources necessary to improve and increase the availability of affordable healthcare. As co-chair of the Public Health Caucus, I am constantly working to reverse the consequences of Obamacare and make sure that people and providers—and not the government—are in control of important healthcare decisions. I’m humbled to receive this award for those efforts.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee.
