Wittman Honors Fallen Officer Ashley Guindon

WASHINGTON – Prince William County Police Officer Ashley Guindon was killed in the line of duty Saturday while responding to a domestic dispute in Woodbridge, Virginia. Two of her colleagues, Officers Jesse Hempen and David McKeown, were also injured in the shooting and remain hospitalized. Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) released the following statement honoring the fallen:

“Every day, men and women like Officer Guindon put themselves in harm’s way to protect innocent lives. It is unfortunate that we live in a world where not everyone respects that kind of dedicated selflessness. Officer Guindon spent six years as a Marine Corps reservist, and by all accounts, was passionate about serving others. I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to her family, her friends, and to every member of the Prince William County Police Department. I am continuing to pray for the officers who are in recovery and for all left in the wake of this horrible tragedy.”

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee.
