Wittman Announces New Military Legislative Assistant

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1), Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness, announced today that Pat Thompson has been appointed to serve as his Military Legislative Assistant. In the role, Thompson will primarily be responsible for advising Wittman on military readiness, national security, veterans’, and foreign policy issues.

Thompson, who is serving concurrently as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army Reserve, brings to Wittman’s office extensive work experience in U.S. defense policy. In June 2014, Thompson deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) as an intelligence and targeting analyst attached to Task Force 3-10. Most recently, Thompson served as a senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). Previously, he worked as the Director of Basketball Operations with the Duke Men’s Basketball team.

Thompson holds a Master of Arts degree in Christian studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in public policy from Duke University.
