POLL: Are you feeling the drop in the cost of living?

I understand that the cost of living is top-of-mind for Virginians and all Americans. So in Congress, I am fighting for a more affordable America for you and your family. Recent data shows that prices on gas, energy, groceries, housing, and more are beginning to fall. 

Key Cost of Living Statistics:

• The average gas price is now below $3/gallon in 38 states. On average, Virginians are seeing nearly 76 cents in savings per gallon as compared to 2024.

• Since January 2025, prices for propane, kerosene, and firewood are down 20.6% — making it cheaper to heat your home this winter.

• Inflation has dropped from a peak of 9.1% to just 2.7%.

• Grocery prices are trending lower. The price of eggs is down 20.6% — making the average cost of eggs $1.46. 

• The average mortgage rate is now 12% lower than it was in January 2025.
