Family Values

A lot of people say they would not be where they are today without their parents – for me that is the absolute truth. When I was eight months old, my mom and dad adopted me. My birth mother’s decision to choose life gave me more opportunities than she felt she could provide, and my parents’ decision to adopt instilled a passion in me to protect the most vulnerable among us.

As a child of adoption, I believe life is precious and deserves to be protected. I will continue to work to ensure all mothers know what options are available to them, including adoption. In Washington, I will continue to do everything I can to support the families who choose life. I voted for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, authored the Adoption Information Act to ensure expectant parents have access to information about adoption, and fought to have the Adoption Tax Credit remain in our tax code.
