Weekly Updates
As we start the new year, I am looking forward to what we can accomplish together. Serving the constituents of the First District is my number one priority and I want you to know that I have listened – I have listened to the problems you are having at home and I am working to bring you real results. In 2020, I will be working to expand broadband in rural areas, fix our broken health care system, increase opportunities for students, and fix our dysfunctional budget system in Washington.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Business-Cooperative Service Administrator Bette Brand announced USDA has invested $48 million in high speed broadband infrastructure for more than 22,600 rural households in Virginia – including King and Queen County. This is one of many funding announcements in the first round of USDA's ReConnect Pilot Program investments.

We have come to the end of another year, 2019, and what a year it has been! My number one priority is the constituents of the First District and I have been working hard to make sure that my four offices – located in Mechanicsville, Tappahannock, Stafford, and Washington – and I provide the best constituent service as possible. I wanted to take a moment and share with you some statistics from my office since January 1st 2019. WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Wittman voted in favor of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement Implementation Act to advance the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) – a replacement for the North American Free Trade Agreement. Ratifying the USMCA has been a major priority of both Congressional Republicans and President Trump in 2019.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) had two pieces of legislation pass the House of Representatives as part of H.R. 729 - a larger package of ten bipartisan bills. The National Fish Habitat Conservation Through Partnerships Act and the Keep America's Waterfronts Working Act work to increase conservation of fish habitat and wetlands, as well as preserve our working waterfronts. Congressman Wittman is committed to getting real results for the First District.
