Our nation's debt is out of control – almost $23 trillion dollars. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that during the next 10 years, federal debt held by the public will surge from 81 percent to 98 percent of GDP — the highest debt level since just after World War II and more than twice the average level of the past 50 years. This week, we received the President's Budget for Fiscal Year 2021. The President's Budget included important deficit reduction measures - $4.6 trillion between 2021-2030.

My motivation to come to Washington comes from my desire to serve the people of the First District every day. I am dedicated to getting real results to create a better Commonwealth and nation. However, the last few months have been completely dominated by a partisan impeachment process – causing legislating and productivity to come to a screeching halt. This week, the Senate voted to acquit President Trump of both articles of impeachment and I view this as a new beginning.

"Unhappy with the results of the 2016 election, Democrats have been working since before the election to build a case for impeachment against President Trump. This partisan impeachment process has finally come to an end, and it is clear – neither the Senate nor the American people believe there was adequate evidence to remove the president from office.
