WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) applauded the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) announcement of a $354 million, four-year contract with Phlow Corp., located in Richmond, Virginia, that would create the nation's first strategic stockpile of key ingredients needed to make medicines. To prevent domestic shortages of critical medications, the Medicines for All Institute, based in the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) College of Engineering, has joined forces with Phlow Corp.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) hosted two events this week for businesses across the First District. Monday, Congressman Wittman spoke to the Hanover Chamber of Commerce, and today, spoke with the Greater Williamsburg Business Council about what issues local businesses are facing amid pandemic recovery. Small Business Administration (SBA) District Director Carl Knoblock joined the meeting on Monday and was able to discuss what resources the SBA is able to provide.

To ensure First District seniors are protected, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) sent a letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Deputy Secretary Eric Hargan requesting that more direct relief funds be allocated to our nation's nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities as they take care of patients suffering from the Coronavirus, as well as to ensure that we slow the spread of COVID-19.

WASHINGTON – After learning of Delta Airlines' decision to stop flights to the Newport News Airport until at least the end of September 2020, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) sent a letter to House Leadership and House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Leadership requesting a fix in the next COVID-19 package to clarify the Department of Transportation's (DOT) order last month to consolidate flights to regions with more than one airport. Congressman Wittman sent this letter with several other colleagues from the Virginia Delegation.
