(Washington D.C.) - Congressman Rob Wittman announced today the addition of several new online tools to reach out to constituents and the media. Wittman will be utilizing the House of Representatives YouTube portal to post video updates on important issues, as well as his speeches from the House floor and around the First District.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today, Congressman Rob Wittman voted against the Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Wittman voiced his concerns along with other House members on the House floor this week. Wittman realizes that that the economy is in a serious recession, but that we must do what is best for the country now and in the future.
The DTV Delay Act, which was recently signed into law, extends the deadline for full-power broadcast TV stations to complete the DTV transition from February 17, 2009 to June 12, 2009. This new law allows more time for consumers to be prepared for the DTV transition. However, under the law, stations may choose to stop broadcasting in analog before the new transition date. By June 12, 2009, over-the-air full-power television broadcasts, which are currently provided by television stations in both analog and digital formats, will become digital only.
"I applaud House Leadership for finally listening to the American people. I do not believe that a congressional pay raise of any amount is appropriate at a time when our nation is at war and our federal budget deficit is rising," said Wittman.
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today Congressman Rob Wittman along with fellow House Republicans met with President Barack Obama at a special GOP Conference meeting to discuss his proposed stimulus package: H.R 1 - The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Conference Members were given the opportunity to discuss the package, its overall cost and ask the President questions.
