Washington, DC – Members of Virginia's Congressional Delegation today sent a letter to President Barack Obama, Speaker John Boehner, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid expressing their unity for immediate action to avert looming cuts set to hit March 1, stressing the disproportional impact to the Commonwealth of Virginia. The bicameral, bipartisan group of members also stressed the enormous impacts on the country's national security and federal government, and the ripple effect on Virginia's economy.

Today, Wittman received a new appointment to the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources, and will again serve on the Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife and Oceans and Insular Affairs.

Washington, D.C. - Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee's Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, supported the passage today of the Conference Report for the Fiscal Year 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This legislation, the final version of the bill that establishes the funding authorizations and priorities for the nation's military, passed the House of Representatives by a strong bipartisan vote of 315-107. During floor debate over the measure, Wittman delivered the following statement:
