A recent guest columnist highlighted my public advocacy against harmful defense budget cuts slated for later this year. I am glad he shares my commitment.

These additional reductions to our defense budget—known as sequestration—will hollow out our military and leave our nation in a position where our military leaders say we will be unable to defend against the threats we face.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today supported passage of H.R. 1735, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2016, through the full House Armed Services Committee. The annual authorization bill provides policy guidance and authorization for the Department of Defense.

Washington, D.C. – House Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee Chairman Rob Wittman (VA-1) applauded the passage of legislative language considered by the subcommittee as part of H.R. 1735, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2016. The House Armed Services Committee will consider the full legislation next week on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA-1) has introduced the International Conflicts of Concern Act, a bill to protect the United States by establishing a framework to temporarily restrict the travel of individuals to countries of conflict where they may radicalize and return to the U.S. to carry out an attack.
