WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today announced he has introduced legislation to bolster the structure of leadership at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC). Wittman's bill proposes the placement of a commissioned officer of the United States Military in charge of Army National Cemeteries, which includes ANC, to provide for greater accountability in the chain of command.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Jim Moran (D-08) joined Senators Tim Kaine and Mark R. Warner, Congressmen Rob Wittman (R-01), Bobby Scott (D-03), and Gerry Connolly (D-11), and members of Virginia tribes to announce legislation to grant federal recognition to six Virginia Native American tribes. The bill, the "Thomasina E. Jordan Indian Tribes of Virginia Act" was introduced by Moran and Kaine in the House and Senate, respectively.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1), Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness, presided over the markup today of the Readiness Subcommittee's portion of H.R. 1960, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2014, which passed with unanimous support from the subcommittee members.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) praised the introduction of his Chesapeake Bay Accountability and Recovery Act (H.R. 739) in the Senate by Virginia Senator Mark Warner today. This legislation passed the House of Representatives in both the 111th and 112th Congresses, and Wittman reintroduced it earlier this year as a continuation of his efforts to streamline and improve Chesapeake Bay restoration efforts.

The office move will take place on Monday, May 13, 2013, and the office will re-open in the new temporary location on Wednesday, May 15.
