Friend-
This is a historic time for Americans. We are on the verge of reforming our far too outdated and complex tax code for the first time in decades. As I've been all across our district, I hear from small business owners and families burdened by the cost of and time spent complying with our overwhelming tax code each year.

Dear Friend-
I just wrote an op-ed that was published in Real Clear Defense on securing a proper defense topline; specifically ending the defense sequester. For too long we have allowed the budget to drive our military strategy; instead, we need to have our strategy drive the budget. I will continue working to ensure we restore military readiness and meet the needs of our men and women in uniform.

Passing a Budget: DONE
October 26, 2017
WASHINGTON- Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) released this statement following the passage of the FY18 budget:
"Passing this budget paves the way for a reconciliation process that allows Congress to move forward with tax reform. At the end of the day, Americans should be paying less in taxes than before, and I believe this budget resolution sets up Congress to deliver a tax plan that supports working-class families, protects jobs, and gives the American economy the boost it needs.

It's easy to say no, to stick with the status quo. Business as usual in Washington means gridlock, stalemating, and postponing. It's predictable. But, like the American people, I am tired of this.
