"Jim Moran has dedicated a career of service to the people of our Commonwealth. I have enjoyed working with Jim on a number of issues affecting Northern Virginia, including transportation issues and fighting for our hardworking federal employees. I appreciate his commitment to his constituents and his friendship during our service together in the House of Representatives."

Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1) today supported legislation funding government through the remainder of fiscal year 2014, H.R. 3547, the Consolidated Appropriations Act. Wittman, as Chairman of the House Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee, stressed the importance of the partial restoration of funding for the Department of Defense.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) has introduced H.R. 3792 to repeal the provision in the Bipartisan Budget Act, H.J.Res. 59, affecting military retirees.

"I strongly believe that we cannot and should not balance the budget on the backs of the servicemembers who have given their all for our country. I was vehemently opposed to the provision in the Bipartisan Budget Act that cuts COLAs for military retirees, and today I have introduced H.R. 3792 to repeal that section."
