Wittman Statement on Chairman Hastings Retirement Announcement

Washington, D.C. – Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1) released the following statement upon the announcement by House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-4) that he will retire at the end of his term:

"Chairman Hastings will leave an honorable legacy of service in the House of Representatives, especially his years as Chairman of the Natural Resources Committee. Sportsmen, conservationists, and all those who care about our natural treasures have benefited greatly from his leadership. I appreciate his focus on American energy exploration and unlocking our resources to fuel our nation. I wish him and his family all the best in his next chapter of life."

Representative Rob Wittman represents the First District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee where he is the Chairman of the Readiness Subcommittee.
