As your Congressman here in Virginia's First District, I want to consistently provide you with updates on my work to address critical issues facing our nation. I am focused on building a strong economy for all Virginians, ensuring we maintain a strong national defense, bringing accountability back to Washington, and meeting the needs of our nation's veterans and federal employees.

Over the past two years, the 115th Congress advanced a bold agenda that breathed life into our economy, made critical investments in restoring military readiness, strengthened career and technical education,and directed resources to combat the opioid epidemic.When the 116th Congress begins next year, it is critical that we not lose the progress we've made, especially when it comes to our military and economy. Until then, the 115th has a few weeks left in Washington to address outstanding legislative business.

Wittman Holds Two CTE Symposiums
WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) held two Career and Technical Education (CTE) Symposiums. The first took place on Monday at Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg and the second in Mechanicsville at American Legion Post 175. The purpose of these symposiums is to connect education institutions with local businesses and the private sector, and to help ensure the curriculum for our students reflects the needs of the workforce.
