MATHEWS COUNTY, VA – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) announced the United States Coast Guard will continue to operate Coast Guard Station Milford Haven year-round, reversing their previous decision. Prior to this announcement, the Coast Guard had planned to suspend operations at Station Milford Haven during the "off-season" winter months.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01), Vice Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee and Ranking Member of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22). The FY 22 NDAA authorizes funding for the United States Department of Defense for the next fiscal year and serves as the primary vehicle through which defense legislation is passed.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) voted against raising the debt ceiling and the Democrats' proposed Continuing Resolution (CR). Our national debt is currently over $28 trillion- roughly 125% of our GDP. Last year, the United States paid $376 billion in interest on this debt. Despite having passed a minibus earlier in the year, the House has not appropriated funding for our military, the Department of Homeland Security, or grants for law enforcement, among other priorities.

KILMARNOCK, VA- Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) toured Visiting Angels, an in-home health facility located in Kilmarnock, VA, to personally speak with those affected by the employment crisis. This crisis has caused a shortage of caregivers in Virginia. In the 7 counties supported by Visiting Angels (Northumberland, Lancaster, Middlesex, Mathews, Gloucester, Richmond, Essex), 33% of the population are senior citizens. Visiting Angels could potentially double the number of clients they support, but are unable to fill dozens of job openings.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Anthony Brown (D-Md.) and Congressman Rob Wittman (R–Va.) introduced the 1st Lt. Hugh Conor McDowell Safety in Armed Forces Equipment Act of 2021 to establish a pilot program that authorizes the use of data recorders, or "black boxes," to improve the safety and effectiveness of military tactical vehicles.

With just 4 days remaining until the "clock runs out," thousands of US citizens, Afghans who aided US forces, and their families remain stranded in Afghanistan. And just yesterday, it was reported the Taliban have a list of every American in Afghanistan, willfully given to them by the Biden Administration. President Biden has not denied these reports.
