Washington, D.C. - Congressman Rob Wittman called on Congress to increase its focus on reforming health care by reducing cost during today's GOP Health Care Solutions Group hearing.
Wittman, along with Republican Leader John Boehner, Republican Whip Eric Cantor, and Health Care Solutions Group Chairman Roy Blunt, Jr, listened to testimony from several witnesses, including Shona Robertson-Holmes, a Canadian patient who sought care in the United States after a six month wait for treatment of a life threatening illness.

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Rob Wittman today voted in favor of H.R. 3181, the Energy and Water Appropriations Act for 2010. The legislation, which funds agencies and programs under the Department of Energy, the Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Reclamation, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and various regional water and power authorities, passed by a vote of 320 to 97.
Congress returned to Washington this past week and hit the ground running on several important issues. A hearing on my Chesapeake Bay legislation took place, we passed a bill to aid small businesses, and we announced a grant to help transport wounded warriors in Virginia to job training programs.
Washington, D.C. - Rob Wittman today announced a $1.2 million Federal Highway Administration (FHA) grant for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The money will be used to develop a transportation program for training and job placement of veterans who are undergoing physical and mental rehabilitation.

Thank you very much for holding this hearing to address two bills impacting the Chesapeake Bay.
I am honored to represent Virginia's First Congressional District. Improving the health of the Chesapeake Bay is a priority to me and many of my constituents.
