WASHINGTON — Representatives Rob Wittman (R-VA-01), Josh Harder (D-CA-10) and Grace Napolitano (D-CA-32), today introduced the bipartisan Water Resources Research Amendments Act. The bill would reauthorize an expired program supporting local water research institutes. This reauthorization will solve problems regarding water quantity and quality in collaboration with universities, local governments, the water industry, and the public. A bipartisan partner bill was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Cardin (D-MD) and Sen. Boozman (R-AR).
WASHINGTON- Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA-01) and Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA-03) introduced H.R. 2609, the "Naval Readiness Act". This bipartisan bill would extend the requirement for the Annual Report on Material Readiness of Navy Ships, a report generated from an inspection known as INSURV, indefinitely. The Naval Readiness Act not only strikes the expiration date for reporting on INSURV results, but breaks out the reporting into a form that provides a cleared benchmark on fleet readiness. Washington – Yesterday, Governor Ralph Northam announced $20.1 million in grants awarded through the second round of the Virginia Telecommunications Initiative (VATI) to deliver high-speed internet access to many rural, unserved, and underserved Virginians. This second round of awards totaling $20.1 million will go to 17 localities through 11 projects. Three of those projects receiving awards are in the Virginia's First Congressional District, which Congressman Wittman authored five letters of support for.
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) announced he has reintroduced the Adoption Information Act. This bill would require family planning services to provide pamphlets containing contact information for adoption centers to anyone receiving family planning services, at the time the person inquiries about these services. A family planning services project's eligibility to receive federal grants or contracts through the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) would be contingent upon the execution of this requirement.
