WASHINGTON – Recently, Governor Ralph Northam announced $29.6 million in grants awarded through the Virginia Telecommunications Initiative (VATI) to deliver high-speed internet access to many rural, unserved, and underserved Virginians. This first round set of awards totaling $29.6 million will go to 11 localities through 5 projects. One of the projects that received an award was the Northern Neck Planning District Commission.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) issued the following statement on the budget reconciliation process:
"After months of calling for unity, I was optimistic we would have a chance to work on the budget in a bipartisan manner. But bipartisanship is a two-way street, requiring we work together to find common ground for the better good. From what we've seen of budget reconciliation thus far, it appears those calls for unity were really calls for conformity. Working across party lines should not require we abandon our principles in the process.
On January 20th, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn in standing in the shadow of the Capitol dome in Washington, DC. Our Republic remains strong, and it is now time to get to work and continue the American tradition of respectful debate and disagreement to achieve results for the American people.
