House Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee Chairman Rob Wittman (VA-1) applauded the passage of legislative language today considered by the Subcommittee as part of H.R. 4435, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2015. The House Armed Services will consider the full legislation next week on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) is accepting entries for the 2014 Congressional Art Competition from high school artists living in Virginia's First District. All high school students living in Virginia's First District are eligible to enter their work in the competition by the April 25, 2014, submission deadline.

​Washington, D.C.​ - The House Committee on Natural Resources passed legislation today authored by Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) to help leverage non-federal funds to protect, restore, and manage wetland habitat for migratory birds and other wildlife. H.R. 2208, North American Wetlands Conservation Extension Act (NAWCA), provides federal cost-share funding to support the North American Waterfowl Management Plan.

The Virginia Watermen's Association awarded Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) with their Sustainable Fisheries Award at an event last night in Washington, D.C., for his efforts over the years to support sustainable fisheries. This award is presented by fishermen and other fishery stakeholders to Members of Congress for their consistent and outspoken support for policies to improve the management and sustainability of fisheries throughout the United States.
