WASHINGTON –Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1), Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Seapower and Projection Forces, today supported passage of legislation allowing retired Marine General James Mattis to be considered for appointment as the 26th Secretary of Defense.

WASHINGTON –Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today released the following statement after voting in favor of a budget resolution allowing the House and Senate to begin the Obamacare repeal and replacement process.

"The Affordable Care Act has failed. As health insurers have struggled to offset new costs of compliance, constituents of the First District have been bogged down with drastic premium hikes and deductibles they can no longer afford. That is why, from the very beginning, I have opposed Obamacare and the kind of top-down, one-size-fits-all regulation it represents.

The theme of this year's Symposium was "Distributed Lethality-Enabling Sea Control." Established in 1985, SNA's mission is to promote greater coordination and communication among those in the military, business, and academic communities who support and have interest in Naval Surface Warfare. WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) voted today in favor of H.R. 26, the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act of 2017 (REINS). This measure would enhance oversight over the current regulatory process by requiring Congressional approval of any new major rule before it can be enforced. A major rule would be defined as a regulation that could result in major price increases for consumers, has an annual effect of $100 million or more on the economy, or causes adverse effects on competition, employment, investment, productivity, or innovation.
