The bill, one of the few passed annually by Congress, includes numerous local priorities championed by Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01).

WASHINGTON – Legislation backed by Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) today had a hearing before the House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity.

The legislation, called the Military Residency Choice Act, is aimed at easing the tax burden on military families by allowing them to establish one consistent state of residency. Now that the bill has had a subcommittee hearing, it can be considered by the full Committee on Veterans Affairs before being brought the House floor for a vote.

WASHINGTON –Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) received the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence at a ceremony hosted at their manufacturing summit in Washington D.C. This award is in recognition of his voting record on key manufacturing issues and his understanding of the sector's role in the economy. Congressman Wittman has been the recipient of this annual award since becoming a member of Congress in 2007, and has voted with NAM on key issues 89% of the time.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman, R-Va., and U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today introduced bicameral, bipartisan legislation that would make it the policy of the United States to achieve the Navy's requirement of 355 ships. Under the "Securing the Homeland by Increasing our Power on the Seas (SHIPS) Act," the fleet would be comprised of the optimal mix of platforms, with funding levels subject to annual appropriations. Currently, only 276 ships are in the battle fleet.
