WASHINGTON –On Friday, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) penned two separate letters to United States Postal Service (USPS) Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and Virginia Governor Ralph Northam requesting a joint briefing between USPS and the Virginia Department of Elections to address concerns about the level of preparedness as the United States nears the November election. In addition, Wittman stated that constituents within the First Congressional District have reported delays in service.

WASHINGTON – This week, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) sent a letter to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue urging the Department to extend the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), also known as the Summer Meals Program, until January 1, 2021, for eligible school food authorities.

On Wednesday, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) voted in favor of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA). The GAOA provides $9.5 billion over five years to pay down the National Park Service's maintenance backlog and provides permanent funding at $900 million per year for the Land and Water Conservation Fund. In Virginia alone, there is more than $1 billion worth of deferred maintenance at our national parks.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) recently sent two letters to Congressional leadership advocating for additional support to families, children and child care providers. The first letter requests greater flexibility for families utilizing Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). The second letter encourages Congress to provide additional federal relief for child care providers as lawmakers weigh additional COVID-19 relief legislation.

Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01), Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Seapower and Projection Forces, voted in favor of H.R.6395, the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21 NDAA).

"I am glad that I was able to support such a bipartisan piece of legislation," Congressman Wittman said. "Several measures that I championed for our warfighters and those who support them passed in this bill.
