"I am thrilled that yet another ship has been removed from the James River Reserve Fleet. Salvaging these ships continues to drive local business and improve our Chesapeake Bay environment," said Wittman.
The most recent ship to leave is The Kalamazoo, which will be recycled at the Esco Marine facility in Brownsville, Texas. Currently, only 26 removable vessels remain in the JRRF.
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today the House of Representatives passed legislation to name the man-made rapids located at the former site of the Embrey Dam in Fredericksburg, Virginia after Senator John W. Warner.
"Senator Warner has served the Commonwealth of Virginia with distinction for nearly three decades. Among his numerous accomplishments for the Commonwealth and the Nation, as an avid outdoorsman I know he takes particular pride in leading efforts to dismantle the Embrey Dam to open the Rappahannock River to canoeists and fish," said Wittman.
