Washington, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today cosponsored legislation enforcing new standards to better identify and code remains at Arlington National Cemetery. Wittman got behind the legislation to urge its passage in the House of Representatives before the 111th Congress completes its business for the remaining days of the legislative session.

Washington, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) was elected today to serve as Chairman of the United States Naval Academy (USNA) Board of Visitors. After a unanimous vote of the current board, Wittman accepted the duty to serve as Chairman for the upcoming year.

Washington, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today returned from a Congressional delegation fact-finding trip to Afghanistan to meet with troops and American military leaders, and to hear of Afghan efforts from local government officials.

11/21 3:26 AM - Met with the NATO Training mission Afghanistan at Camp Eggers. Staff under the commander spoke of the efforts within this command. The Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan is a multinational and multifunctional effort with trainers, instructors, educators and advisors for the Afghan forces. 95% of the money spent in this command is from the U.S. This effort is working with non-governmental and international organizations. Afghan forces have the lead for security in Kabul. All security in Kabul is under Afghan control and staffing.

Washington, DC – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) today voted to support the final passage of the Telework Improvements Act of 2010. This legislation advances the use of telework by Federal agencies, ensuring each agency implements a telework policy, determines employee eligibility to telework, and informs employees about their eligibility. H.R. 1722 first passed the U.S. House of Representatives in July 2010 with Wittman's support, and the final bill passed today will be sent to the President for his signature.

Yorktown, VA – Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) will host an "Individuals with Disabilities Job Fair" on Monday, October 18, 2010 for individuals with disabilities in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.  The Fair will take place from 10 am until 2 pm at the University of Mary Washington's Stafford Campus in Fredericksburg.  It will feature over 50 employers, and will provide those with disabilities the opportunity to learn more about the employment process, enhance their interview skills and receive resume assistance.  Reso
