... no matter what happens, I believe it is critical that folks in Washington work together to pursue common-sense solutions to reform our health care system, including allowing youth up to the age of 26 to stay on their parents’ insurance plans, permitting the sale of insurance across state lines, and ensuring coverage for those with preexisting conditions, among other practical reforms. The past incompetencies that were discovered at Arlington were unconscionable and completely disrespectful of the brave men and women buried on that hallowed ground. I believe it is critical that the person in charge of Arlington be held accountable, to the same standards as the members of our military. Our brave heroes buried there will remain under the care of an eternal commanding officer.

Without the constant and determined efforts of these servicemen and women, both past and present, we would simply lose many of the daily comforts and freedoms that we often take for granted.

As is normal in early April, the days are getting warmer and leaves are growing back on the trees of the First District. Of course, April also brings something else that isn't quite as refreshing: Tax Day. And if you're anything like me, Tax Day causes many mixed emotions.

Policy that allows government to interfere in the patient-doctor relationship, while also continuing the increases in health care costs, is simply bad policy.
