"The Biden administration's requested defense budget for Fiscal Year 2023 does not reflect the threats facing our nation, the enormously damaging impacts of inflation on the purchasing power of the US military, or an investment in the ships, aircraft, vehicles, and additional capabilities that our servicemembers must use today.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) announced his resolution, introduced with Representative Joe Courtney (CT-02), honoring the Centennial of Navy Aircraft Carriers. On March 20, 1922, following a two-year conversion at Norfolk Naval Yard, the former USS Jupiter (Collier #3) was recommissioned as the United States Navy's first Aircraft Carrier USS Langley (CV 1).
