Wittman Welcomes Wounded Warrior Fellow to Constituent Services Team

WASHINGTON - Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) welcomes U.S. Marine John Kuhnle to his Stafford district office staff. Kuhnle, who was selected through the House of Representatives Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program, will assist with Veterans case work and outreach efforts.

As a Wounded Warrior Fellow, Kuhnle's duties will include liaising with the Department of Veterans Affairs on behalf of Rep. Wittman's constituents and organizing Veteran outreach projects, which allow Congressman Wittman to hear directly from local Veterans about issues facing their community.

"No one is better qualified to serve our Veterans than Veterans themselves," Rep. Wittman said."I am honored to welcome John to the staff and know he will serve First District Veterans with the same selflessness and dedication he displayed during his military service to our Nation."

"I'm excited to join Congressman Wittman's staff as a Wounded Warrior Fellow and look forward to assisting my fellow veterans to ensure they receive the benefits they earned and deserve,"Kuhnle said.

John Kuhnle served in the Marine Corps as a Field Artillery Senior Sergeant, as well as a Substance Abuse Control Officer. A resident of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Kuhnle also worked for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration as a contactor with Linden Resources.

The Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program was established by the House of Representatives to provide employment opportunities for wounded or disabled veterans within member offices. The program is limited to veterans who have served on active duty since September 11, 2001, with less than 20 years of service and have a minimum 30% disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is the Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee.
