Wittman Votes for Long-Term Stability of the Land Water Conservation Fund

WASHINGTON –
Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) released this statement after voting in favor of S. 47, the Natural Resources Management Act:

"This bill signifies a strong, bipartisan consensus and commitment to protecting our nation's public resources; including parks, wildlife, and habitats. Today's vote will help preserve thousands of acres of public land, so that Americans can visit, explore, fish, hunt and enjoy wildlife and the outdoors for generations to come. I am particularly proud of the measure which will provide long-term stability of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). As a lifelong sportsmen and supporter of our nation's refuges, parks, and public lands, providing this stability to LWCF will improve access for sportsmen, conserve wildlife, and protect public lands for future generations in Virginia and across the country."

S. 47 passed by a vote of 363-62 and will now go to President Trump's desk to be signed into law.

Congressman Rob Wittman represents the 1st District of Virginia. He serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Armed Services Committee, where he serves as the ranking member of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee.
